Paul and Austin Hawley

Paul Hawley- Assistant Winemaker, Marketing

Growing up in the wine country, Paul has been exposed to wine and winemaking since he was small. As a young kid, his dad would take him around the Clos du Bois cellar and let him taste the freshly pressed grape juice. John recalls his unique ability to pick the reserve lots as his favorites.

Paul graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2003 with a BA in Film Production. With a number of harvests under his belt, Paul spent a year traveling New Zealand and Austrailia and worked the 2004 vintage in a winery down-under.

In 2005, Paul co-wrote and co-directed a feature film with long time filmmaking partner, Ross Clendenen. "Corked" is a mockumentary about the Sonoma County wine industry and should be released this Summer (Click Here to view the trailer).

Paul has been working full time at Hawley Winery since 2005, concentrating on taking over some of the marketing aspects of the business. Finishing up a certificate in business administration, Paul hopes to get an MBA in the near future as well as continuing to pursue his interest in filmmaking.

Austin Hawley- Assistant Winemaker, Sales

Having graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2006, Austin's education in biological sciences and outgoing nature are a welcome addition to Hawley Winery. When he is not working in the cellar, he's on the road doing sales.

Growing up in the wine country, Austin has been studying California wines for some time. In 2005 he traveled to Australia and New Zealand to “research” their wines and style. An interest in medicine and helping people has recently led Austin to become a volunteer firefighter, hoping to pursue EMT medical training.

Austin looks forward to working further with his dad and brother, as well as everyone he meets along the way. Austin has rooted a passion for the wine industry and the wine country state of mind; enjoy life.
